Attractions
The Museum
The museum houses various artefacts belonging to the communities that live around the area including the Maasai, Kalenjin, Turkana and Luo. It also contains a showcase of animals that live within the area such as the hyrax and Spitting cobra.
Hyrax Hill Viewing point
This is a point on top of the hyrax hill that offers visitors gorgeous views of the surrounding area. One can be able to see the Nyandarua escarpments from this point.
Bao Game rocks
Bao game is a game that was played during the prehistoric times and can be found within the rocks that are on the site. The Bao game is a game that can be found across East Africa and is a two person player game
The Lower Site
This is a site containing various acheulean tools such as handaxes which are reported to be over half a million years old. Acheulean tools are stone tools used by the early humans in their day to day lives.
The Sites
The hyrax hill museum contains three sites including the Sirikwa Site, Neolithic Site and site three. Each of the sites depicts how its inhabitants lived within the area. The Sirikwa people who inhabited the area created large depressions commonly referred to as Sirkiwa holes which were used as pens for their cattle which can be viewed within the Hyrax hill
The Tortoise Pit
This is a small pit that houses some tortoises which can be viewed with ease.
