Koobi Fora is a prehistoric site found within the Sibiloi National Park. In Gabbra ,Koobi Fora that means a place of commiphora and the source of myrrh which is a common plant found in the area. Koobi Fora site is approximately 700 square miles and contains depositions from around 5 million years to 1 million years ago during the Early Pleistocene. Koobi Fora is on the Eastern Side of Lake Turkana and is part of the Lake Turkana National Parks which are considered a UNESCO world heritage. Koobi Fora was one of the sites that Richard Leakey was known to have worked on. He first noticed the site in 1967 and since then he and his team have uncovered over 400 hominin fossils from the area.

Gede ruins are the remains of a town previously inhabited by the Swahili people from as early as the 11th century. Its name comes from the Oromo word that means ‘precious’. The ruins are near the Kenyan coast and are within the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest. The ruins contain a wide variety of structures including houses, mosques and tombs that are centuries old. At its peak in the 15 century, Gede had a population of about 2500 people. The town was later abandoned during the 17th century. Several theories have been put forward to explain its abandonment including raids, conflicts with neighbouring city states as well as drying up of the wells. Gede ruins was declared a UNESCO world heritage site due to historical significance.

Hyrax Hill is a prehistoric site that had settlements from as early as 5000 years ago when the area had a Lake. The name comes from the name hyrax which is a small animal which used to be abundant in the rocks in the area but their population has declined due to human encroachment. The latest inhabitants of the area were the Sirikiwa people who lived in the area during the early Iron age. Hyrax Hill is located 4 km from Nakuru town and has a museum inside it where visitors can see a variety of artefacts. The place also offers stunning views of the areas around.
